What should we name our kitten?
sobay310 asked:
My wife and I rescued a orange and white kitten from the pound. It got pretty sick, and he is now getting better. We haven’t even named him yet. What would be a good name representing “being strong”?

He is an orange tabby cat about 2 months old.

I think you should call him “Sparky” because it’s cute and he’s done a good job of using his sparky personality to make it through his sickness.

Tiger.
Seems that would be a great name for it.
Because he is a fighter.

Hard question. Is he goofy, reserved, always on the move, laid back?
All of our cats sort of told us their names – we have Pickles, Trixie, Flavio, & Bridgid.
Watch him and see what sounds you make cause the strongest response. Flavio usually responds to Big Boy or Handsome – just because. He is a doofus, tho.
Give him a name with character – he has been through alot.

How wonderful that your rescued kitty is getting healthy! I love hearing stories like that. As for a name, my 3 favorite orange tabbies are Morris, Heathcliff and Garfield. All are beloved famous kitties known for being “tough cookies”.
Alternatively you could name him after one of the mythological gods:
Hercules – noted for his strength and courage
Apollo (I like this one especially since Apollo was the god of medicine and healing)
Cratus – god of strength & power

The name Valerian means Strong and Healthy, Willard means Strong Desire, and Medwin means, Strong friend.
I like Medwin. Perfect name for a strong hearted new little buddy.

We have three orange tabbys–Mr. Peaches, Nacho, and Tummy (because that’s what it’s all about with him), none of which sound very strong or macho! LOL
